Everyone wears a jersey, some people love sports

If you catch me before work, you’ll find me walking my dog Stella to grab a coffee in Culver City sporting a crew neck sweatshirt. I would say “my favorite” crew neck sweatshirt, but there’s one problem — picking a favorite out of my collection would be nearly impossible.

I must say, I’ve curated quite the sweatshirt collection; To name a few, you’ll catch me in:

  • A vintage Bengals sweatshirt (Who Dey!)

  • THE Taylor Swift Eras Tour Sweatshirt* TikTok went crazy for

  • An OG first gen McBeard hoodie (not a crew neck, but IYKYK)

  • A limited Edition Nike LA pop up sweatshirt

  • An oversized Ohio State sweatshirt with the original sewn on letters. (Fun fact - my dad was the captain of the ice hockey team and is very passionate the sewn on letters are far superior to the screen printed ones. O-H + Go Bucks!).

  • Anine Bing Los Angeles black + white classic LA print (I know, I’m sorry, I had to)

While you may not catch me in a stadium-ready Burrow jersey, you will absolutely find me sporting the teams I love.

Sweatshirts are more than athleisure - they’re a chance to show the world you’re a part of a team.

Brands can learn from this athleisure moment — and not just by throwing their logo on a sweatshirt. Everyone chooses teams, even if they don’t watch sports. You

Marketing is about converting potential customers into loyal customers, into advocates. It’s about inviting people to be on your team, and celebrating with them as they choose your brand again and again. The question is — are you clear on the reasons why they would choose yours above the many other options? That’s the power of brand.

*THE Taylor Swift Eras Tour sweatshirt:

ps - some of my favorite Culver spots are GoodBoyBoy, Go Get Em Tiger, or the new Little Marionette. And most of the time I am sporting this Era’s Tour sweatshirt. Maybe I’ll catch you on my route!
